Project Overview

The Hotong area holds the memory of Beijing, but the original lifestyle has disappeared and the loss can be attributed to rapid urban development. The city has vastly expanded out, referred to as sprawl and along with sky scraping buildings it has expanded up, as well. The only area to add the cities memories has to be down. Using what I’ll describe as floating layers we hope to create a culture line within the city. These floating layers can serve to educate citizens in greater detail about the city’s history.
